“Circa, downtown Las Vegas’ newest casino, isn’t scheduled to open until Oct. 28. But Circa Sports already has expanded to other states. Circa Sports sportsbook, which recently celebrated its one-year anniversary in Nevada, announced Wednesday the launch of its mobile sports betting app in Colorado.

The Circa Sports Colorado app will be run out of Las Vegas, where Circa Sports launched a mobile app in June 2019, as well as two physical books at Golden Gate and the D Las Vegas. ‘We’re going to take what Circa Sports has been doing in Nevada and we’re excited about expanding the operation to Colorado,’ Golden Gate and D Las Vegas owner Derek Stevens said.

The Colorado sports betting market welcomes another mobile operator: Circa Sports. The Las Vegas-based sportsbook launched its app in the Centennial State on Wednesday, almost exactly one year after rolling out its first mobile sports betting offering in Nevada.

Circa Sports offers Colorado bettors another option for line shopping, offering odds on all the the major sports (once leagues resume play). In the meantime, the book offers markets for UFC, golf, soccer and more.

Circa Sports is the brainchild of casino owner and downtown Las Vegas developer Derek Stevens, who is an avid sports fan and gambler. This app launch follows Circa Resort and Casino announcing it will open the world’s largest sportsbook in Las Vegas in October, a multi-level, stadium-style sportsbook on the 35th floor of the 777-room resort.

“Downtown Las Vegas’ newest casino, Circa, is now taking reservations for its sportsbook, claimed to be the largest in the world once it opens later this year. The 1.25 million-square-foot resort casino, set to open Oct. 28, will feature a stadium-style sportsbook with a three-story, 78-million-pixel screen. The space can fit up to 1,000 fans, according to a Tuesday news release.

“First, Circa Sports created a rival to the Westgate’s SuperContest last year. Now the sportsbooks will hold competing contest weekends to attract entrants. The Westgate will hold its ninth annual SuperContest Weekend on Aug. 21 and 22. Circa recently announced that it would hold its first Football Contest Weekend on the same dates.

Circa will host panel discussions Aug. 21 with betting experts and a meet-and-greet at the D Las Vegas on Aug. 22. The Westgate will have experts on hand to talk with entrants both days and will host its annual golf outing Aug. 22.

Circa sportsbook operations manager Jeffrey Benson called Circa’s relationship with the Westgate ‘a friendly rivalry.’ ‘We’re respectful of what they’re doing and what they have going on,’ he said. ‘We have a very good contest in our own right.’
