Collective Soul visits Downtown Las Vegas on August 10th for a FREE live concert as part of the Downtown Rocks Concert Series. Celebrating their 25th anniversary, this stop on the Collective Soul tour is sure to be an exciting one! From their classic hits to songs off of their recently-released 10th studio album, Blood, sing along with the band in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas at the Now’s The Time Tour.
Starting in the mid-1980’s, lead singer Ed Roland was a key player in the underground music scene in Atlanta. While Roland had many music endeavors, none were quite as successful as the forming of Collective Soul in 1993 when the song “Shine” became a listener favorite on a college radio show. After reaching radio success, Roland recruited Shane Evans, Will Turpin, Ross Childress, and his brother Dean to help perform live shows. In 1995, the self-titled Collective Soul album went triple-platinum after 76 weeks on the Billboard 200 charts.
In the 25 years of rocking the charts with now 10 studio albums, Collective Soul has started their own label and have provided listeners with award-winning hits. Their song “Shine” won “Top Rock Song” in the 1994 Billboard Music Awards while “December” won in 1995, and the band was nominated in the same category for “Heavy” in 1999. Today, they continue to rock across America with their alternative rock and post-grunge sound.
The Collective Soul concert promptly begins at 9:00 PM on the 3rd Street Stage at the Fremont Street Experience.
